Frequently Asked Questions

Direct Primary Care is a revolutionary health care model that restores a personal relationship with your provider. It is a membership-based model of healthcare that removes insurance from routine primary care. Instead of paying co-pays for each visit, members pay a predictable monthly membership that includes unlimited access to their primary care clinician, longer appointments, and personalized care.
-
Membership includes unlimited office visits, telehealth, phone and text communication, chronic disease management, preventive care, mental health care, annual routine laboratory screening, and many common office procedures—all for one predictable membership fee.
-
No! As a member of Webster Direct Primary Care, you will enjoy the benefit of having NO co-pays, regardless of how many times you visit us.
-
Yes! One of the biggest benefits of Direct Primary Care is that you'll have direct access to me by phone or text when questions come up. Whether you're wondering if something can wait until morning or if you should be seen, I'm here to help. Of course, if you're experiencing a true medical emergency, you'll need to call 911—not me.
-
Yes! Medically guided weight management has been a cornerstone of my practice since before medications like Ozempic and Zepbound were widely available. It is one of the most rewarding parts of primary care because even modest improvements can have a meaningful impact on blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, joint pain, energy levels, and overall health.
I also believe the journey should always belong to you. You are the captain of the ship—you choose the destination and set the pace. My role is to serve as your coach, navigator, and biggest encourager, helping you understand your options, work through obstacles, and adjust course when needed. We will celebrate victories, learn from setbacks, and build a plan that fits your life rather than expecting your life to fit the plan. Many of my patients tell me they avoided talking about their weight for years until they found a practice where they felt supported rather than judged.

Yes! Every visit is with me, John Webster, FNP-C. Over time, I'll get to know you, your health goals, and your story so we can build a trusted relationship and make better healthcare decisions together.

Depending on your insurance plan and healthcare needs, Direct Primary Care may reduce overall healthcare costs while improving access to personalized, quality primary care. Many individuals and families choose to pair Direct Primary Care with a high-deductible health plan or health care sharing group (e.g. Medi-Share, Samaritan, or Sedera). Instead of paying higher premiums for routine primary care, they invest in a membership that provides unlimited access to their clinician while keeping insurance for major medical expenses.

A Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice clinician, typically with 7 years of university and graduate-level medical training, qualified to diagnose illnesses, order and interpret tests, and manage both acute and chronic conditions with prescriptive authority. Nurse Practitioners combine a strong foundation in evidence-based medicine with a patient-centered approach.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner in Indiana, I practice in collaboration with a licensed physician as required by state law. This relationship supports consultation and professional collaboration when needed while allowing me to provide your primary care directly. I believe in transparency, and patients can expect to be informed whenever additional expertise or consultation would help ensure they receive the highest quality care.
-
We do not accept or bill insurance. By working directly for our patients rather than insurance companies, we can keep care simple, transparent, and focused on what matters most: your health. This model allows for decisions guided by what is best for you—not by what an insurance plan will cover.
-
Yes. We recommend maintaining health insurance—such as a high-deductible health plan—to protect against unexpected medical expenses like hospitalizations, surgeries, specialty care, and costly medications. Many patients find that pairing Direct Primary Care with a high-deductible health plan provides exceptional access to personalized primary care while helping manage overall healthcare costs.
-
Yes. Under current federal law, Direct Primary Care memberships may be paid for with Health Savings Account (HSA) funds. Eligibility for Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and individual HSA plans may vary, so we recommend checking with your HSA/FSA administrator or tax professional for guidance.
-
Most routine primary care services are included. Additional charges apply only for services with significant direct costs, such as laboratory testing beyond your included annual preventive labs, pathology fees, medication injections, home visits, and certain medical supplies like splints and braces. Whenever possible, these services are provided at wholesale cost.
